CLOSED: Review & Giveaway:: Tropical Traditions Coconut Cream Concentrate (Ends 11/12)

You may recall another review and giveaway sponsored by the amazing people over at Tropical Traditions. Today I would love to introduce you to their Coconut Cream Concentrate. We recently had a family gathering so I was given the opportunity to try out a recipe using the Coconut Cream Concentrate.

The recipe I made was one from the Free Coconut Recipes website for:

Creamy Coconut Cinnamon Smoothie

This smoothie was a definite hit among my family especially the kids. They went through it rather fast and so did some of the adults ;) It was smooth and creamy. As it gets closer to the holidays this is definitely a drink I will be making for family and friends.

What makes Coconut Cream Concentrate so different?

Commercial coconut milks and creams are generally sold in cans, or sometimes boxes and tetra packs. The main ingredient in these products is water. If the fat content is 17%, it is called “coconut milk.” If the fat content is 24%, it is called “coconut cream.” But most of what you are purchasing is water. Coconut Cream Concentrate, on the other hand, has NO water, and is pure coconut. Unlike the commercial varieties, it also contains ALL the fiber of the coconut. Pure, dried coconut contains more fiber per gram than even oat bran! This fiber has been stripped out of commercial coconut milks and coconut creams. Also, almost all commercial coconut milks and creams have additives to prevent the water from separating from the coconut oil, and also have sulfites added to keep it white longer. Sometimes these additives are so small, that the FDA does not require them to list them on their labels as ingredients. Coconut Cream Concentrate, however, contains NO additives and NO preservatives at all: it is 100% natural coconut made from certified organic Philippine coconuts grown without pesticides or fertilizers. Coconut Cream Concentrate comes packaged in 1 pint or 1 quart glass jars.

Now my husband (love him to death) when I first received my jar of coconut cream has his mind set that he had, had it before and knew how it tasted. Well he pulls the jar out of the box opens it and dips his spoon in and takes a taste. The look on his face was priceless, he stated that it didn’t taste anything like the canned creams you buy from the store. So I after having a good laugh at his expense, I explained to him that you have to actually prepare the coconut cream concentrate. Here is how it works:

CLOSED: Review and Giveaway :: Ecolunch Box Solo Cube (Ends 11/12)

ECOlunchbox is making it easy for individuals and families to save money and not to mention the environment by helping you green your lunch.

I was recently given the opportunity to try the ECO Lunchbox Solo Cube and I am excited to share with you my experience.

Sad to say before ECO Lunch I was not making the best choice for packing lunch for my husband and son. My husband usually takes the Tupperware we use to put up leftovers in the fridge. Love my husband to death but between the containers he forgets at work, loses and/or ruins my supply is getting low and the tops are going missing. The cost to replace is starting to grow and now that my son started school he needs something better to use to take his lunch in that I know will last.

The Solution:

So when ECOlunchbox asks you if you want a FREE Lunch? They mean it.

Plastic-free, waste-free, lead-free, BPA-free, PVC-free and vinyl-free.

About the Solo Cube:

No yuck. No muck. Our ECOlunchbox Solo Cube is plastic-free, lead-free, BPA-free, phthalate-free and even waste-free. Container measures 5 1/4 inches square and 1 7/8 inches deep. Made from high-quality stainless steel, our square sandwich box is non-toxic and healthy for both people and our planet. Yum-yum. Non Leaching. Unbreakable. Dishwasher safe. Made in India from 100% high-quality Stainless Steel. The stainless steel will not retain stains, odors or residues. Independently tested lead free.

Families can save $400 and more (depending on the size of the family) a year by greening their lunch gear and put a halt to filling up their trash cans and local landfill of over 4000 units of trash PER family using general disposable lunch packing items.
